The psychedelic new track from Sofie Royer is the playful ‘Schweden Espresso’. Musically, it wanders from a Beatles-like introduction filled with swirling guitars, into an intimate, bouncy keyboard-accompanied verse, and ends up drifting towards a smooth, luscious chorus laden with incredible vocal hooks and retro synth sounds. On the hypnotic video that accompanies the track, filmmaker Eugene Kotlyarenko (and now Sofie’s husband) explains: “When they talk about making art that's personal, this is about as personal as it gets. Over three days of running around Vegas with Sofie, we came, we shot, and we conquered. Shooting 20 hours a day, 3 days straight, was more energizing than exhausting. All the gambling and eating and smoking and drinking and waiting to get a wedding license was more bacchanal than banal.
